Fault phenomenon:
In the substrate carrier, the penetration of pigment into the ink film or oil film causes the change or blooming of surface ink or varnish color pigment. As we know, easy to seep pigment in printing ink graphics and text ink film or varnish oil film surface precipitation is called frosting.
Causes:
Packaging such as plastic or aluminum foil substrate surface coloring material or pigment in the backing layer is dissolved by the surface of the ink solvent and migrated to the ink film or oil film, resulting in bleeding and frosting. Generally, inorganic pigments do not have such problems. Red or purple organic pigments have more problems. The solvent compatibility of the base ink or base oil with the surface ink system and the solvent resistance of the pigment should be considered.
Countermeasures:
The following methods can be used for aluminum foil packaging:
(1) In order to prevent permeating, good sealing primer or full version of white or yellow ink can be used, which have good solubility and leveling property. For example, alcohol soluble polyamide resin, polyvinyl butyral or Damar resin, silver powder, mica powder and other closed colors constitute one component sealed white ink or varnish, and two-component polyurethane ink and varnish;
(2) When using organic pigments, the pigments with good solvent resistance, base oil, top oil, ink color and structure color should be as close as possible;
(3) When the ink, varnish full plate printing or primer is one component thermoplastic ink or varnish, a small amount of thermosetting resin binder should be added appropriately to ensure the ink film adhesion after cooking. The solvent on the surface of ink film should be compatible with the solvent with poor solubility;
(4) When the full-scale white ink or yellow ink or full plate primer is completely cured, the surface register printing is carried out. When the overprint color is dry, the last shading print or full plate varnish is applied.
