(2) Low molecular weight
Solvent free adhesive does not contain any solvent, and no solvent is added to the adhesive during use. Therefore, it is impossible to improve the coating performance of the adhesive by adding solvent and adjusting (reducing) the viscosity of the adhesive to meet the need of evenly coating the adhesive on the surface of the substrate; increasing the construction temperature can reduce the viscosity of the adhesive, which is beneficial to the coating However, with the increase of temperature, the application period (coating construction time) of adhesives is shortened correspondingly, and the range of temperature increase is greatly limited. In addition to single component solvent-free adhesives, the coating temperature of general solventless adhesives must be controlled below 80 ℃.
In order to keep the viscosity of adhesive at a low level and meet the needs of gluing construction, it is necessary to reduce the molecular weight of the adhesive to reduce the viscosity of the adhesive. Therefore, another common feature of solvent-free adhesives is that the molecular weight of the adhesive is significantly lower than that of the dry composite adhesive.
The low molecular weight can meet the needs of coating construction. However, due to the low molecular weight, it is easy to penetrate and migrate to the ink layer of the substrate, showing poor compatibility with some printing inks and causing the variation of printing patterns.
(3) Low initial adhesion

Due to the low molecular weight of solvent-free adhesives, there is a common feature of solventless adhesives, that is, the initial adhesion of composite products is low during composite processing.
