What kind of stir stick can make ink more uniform?
In gravure printing production, because of the solvent volatilization in the ink groove, the ink uniformity is reduced, and the surface is easy to form ink skin and ink block. After the plate roller is put on, the scraper is not easy to scrape, resulting in paste plate, knife line and other defects. How to solve this problem, let the ink "flow" up, keep mixing, can naturally avoid this situation.
There are two ways to make the ink move: one is to use the ink circulation pump to make the ink circulate; the other is to place an inkstick in the ink trough to make the ink flow in the ink groove. The former is the external circulation of ink, high cost, and increased the factors of failure, generally with the addition of solvent, viscosity automatic control system, not listed in this article. From the perspective of making ink uniform, the latter is the most economical and effective measure.
Ink mixing stick is generally made of aluminum alloy hollow rod, the surface has a spiral continuous protrusion, that is, the so-called "ripple" or unfolding line, with magnetic materials at both ends, which can be adsorbed on the plate roller. When printing, the ink stirring stick floats on the ink surface, and the plate roller rotates in the opposite direction by adsorption. When rotating, the ripple drives the surface of the ink, so that the surface of the ink movement, so that the ink evenly, to avoid the corresponding quality problems.
There are two main factors to determine the quality of inkstick
1. Effect. The ink mixing effect of ink mixing stick mainly depends on the spreading line, that is, the so-called ripple. Its size, angle, structure and rotation speed of the ink mixing stick determine the mixing effect. Generally speaking, the faster the stirring rod speed, the better the mixing effect. The larger the unfolding line size is, the larger the angle is, and the better mixing effect is. However, if the unfolding line is too large, the magnet part is far away from the plate roller, the magnetic force is weakened, it is not easy to absorb, and the rotation speed of the inkstick is reduced (lost rotation), but the effect is poor. In addition, the specific gravity is small, that is, the higher the ink floating, the better the effect.
2. Life span. Since the ink mixing rod needs to float on the surface of the ink, it is generally hollow. If the seal leaks and the solvent enters into the ink mixing rod, it will sink and lose the stirring effect. Therefore, the seals at both ends should be corrosion resistant. In addition, the surface wear resistance is better.
3. Magnetism. The adsorption of inkstick on the plate roller mainly depends on the magnetic strength. On the one hand, the internal magnet is better to be larger, and the specific gravity cannot be too large due to the large magnet. Some manufacturers add a rubber ring to control the distance, which is a good way, but we should pay attention to the swelling of rubber.
4. Distance. There should be a proper distance between the mixing stick and the plate roller. If it is too close, there is too little ink at the seam, which is not easy to stir; if it is too far away, the magnetic force is reduced and it is easy to lose rotation.
At present, there are generally the following types of ink sticks on the market.
1. Plastic inkstick. It is commonly used in imported products. The surface is made of wear-resistant plastic sheet, and paper core is used inside. The quality is quite good and the price is relatively high. Generally, there are thousands of yuan per meter. It is said that at present some people in China have imitated it, but because there is no better wear-resistant plastic material, the service life is relatively poor, in addition, the mixing ink effect is not very good.
2. Twist the string and stir the ink stick. In general, when the wire rope is used to wrap the ink into the surface of the product, there may be a defect when the ink is used to wrap the thread.
3. Single line aluminum alloy corrugated inkstick. The structure is the same as the winding inkstick, but the wire rope is changed into aluminum alloy spiral protuberance, because there is only one unfolding line, the angle is small, and the stirring effect is poor.
4. Eight wire aluminum alloy corrugated inkstick. There are 8 spreading lines on the surface of aluminum alloy rotary extrusion profile with large angle. It is the best product with ink mixing effect at present. In addition, this kind of product not only has better corrosion resistance at both ends (the manufacturer has promised to guarantee two years of service life), but also has good wear resistance. If the iron chips and other impurities adsorbed by the ink mixing rod are cleaned in time, the service life is generally 2-3 years, which can greatly save the cost of uniform ink for manufacturers. This is also the product that most color printing plants choose at present.
