Process requirements for three-dimensional gilding:
1、 Electrochemical aluminum foil
Anodized aluminum foil is generally composed of 4-5 layers of different materials, such as: base film layer (polyester film), stripping layer, coloring layer (silver anodized aluminum has no coloring layer), aluminum coating layer and adhesive layer.
The main functions of each layer are as follows:
① The base film layer mainly supports other layers.
② The function of the stripping layer is to separate the aluminum foil layer from the base layer, which determines the transfer property of the electrochemical aluminum layer.
③ The main function of coloring layer is to display the color of anodized aluminum and protect the bottom layer. Common colors are: gold, silver, brown red, light blue, black, bright red, green, etc., of which gold and silver are the two most commonly used.
④ The function of aluminum coating is to present metallic luster.
⑤ The function of adhesive layer is to bond hot stamping materials.
The adhesive properties of the adhesive layer are different with different adhesive materials. In order to adapt to the different surface properties of different hot stamping materials, different adhesive layers will be used to form different types of anodized aluminum.
Hot stamping speed and quality are mainly affected by the stripping layer and adhesive layer. If these coatings are not sensitive to heat, the hot stamping speed will be reduced accordingly. In the past, due to the limitation of heat transfer speed, the flat hot stamping speed was low, less than 5000 sheets / hour. However, some of the world's leading electrochemical aluminum suppliers have made their anodized aluminum enough to meet the requirements of the industry for hot stamping speed. The Swiss boster hot stamping machine has achieved a hot stamping speed of 7500 sheets / hour. Due to the relief pattern formed by three-dimensional hot stamping, the control of temperature, speed and pressure is different from that of ordinary stamping. Therefore, the requirements for hot stamping foil are different from those for ordinary stamping. When selecting hot stamping foil, special hot stamping foil should be selected instead of ordinary hot stamping foil, otherwise the hot stamping quality will be poor or other unexpected phenomena will occur.
2、 Temperature, pressure, speed
Temperature, pressure and speed are the three elements of hot stamping technology. Only by controlling the relationship between the three can we control the quality of hot stamping, and the same is true for three-dimensional stamping. Due to the three-dimensional stamping is one-time stamping and concave convex imprinting, the temperature requirement is higher. The ordinary stamping temperature is only 70 ℃ ~ 90 ℃, while the three-dimensional stamping is about 150 ℃. If the temperature is too low, the electrolytic aluminum adhesive layer and stripping layer can not be fully melted, the anodized aluminum foil can not be completely transferred during hot stamping, resulting in hot stamping or exposure. If the temperature is too high, the paper will deform excessively, paste the pictures and texts, the handwriting is not clear, and even the color change of the anodized aluminum. At the same time, the hot stamping plate may expand too much due to the high temperature, which can not accurately match with the bottom mold, resulting in the hot stamping phenomenon. Therefore, temperature control is the first of the three elements.
Hot stamping pressure refers to the hot stamping instant hot plate plate plate pressure. In the hot stamping process, the fused anodized adhesive layer is completed by pressure, so the size and uniformity of pressure directly affect the quality of hot stamping. In addition to the requirement that the anodized aluminum foil is transferred to the surface of the printed matter, it is also necessary to press out the three-dimensional relief pattern on the hot stamping part with huge pressure. Therefore, the pressure is greater than that of ordinary stamping, which requires that the strength of the hot stamping foil should be better to withstand the extrusion of strong pressure. Of course, this does not mean that the greater the pressure, the better. It must be appropriate. If the pressure is too large or too small, you can't get exquisite patterns. If the pressure is too high, the gold foil may be broken, even the bottom die and the printed matter to be ironed will be damaged; if the pressure is too small, the gold foil transfer may not be complete or the hot stamping can not be carried out, so that the three-dimensional relief with concave and convex can not meet the quality requirements. So pressure control is also critical.
Hot stamping speed is actually hot stamping and anodized contact time, that is, the heating time of anodized. The hot stamping speed is fast, the heating time is short, the hot stamping temperature drops quickly, resulting in too low temperature, hot stamping fastness will be affected; hot stamping speed is slow, heating time is long, hot stamping temperature drops slowly, hot stamping fastness is good, but if the control is not good, it will cause the hot stamping temperature too high fault. Therefore, the appropriate hot stamping speed is also the guarantee of high quality hot stamping effect.
