1. Good looking.

2. Identification.

Identification is actually personality. An excellent packaging design should be distinguished from other brands of packaging, and should have its own brand style. It is best for consumers to know which brand of products it is when they see the packaging of products. This is very similar to being a person. People with personality are easy to be remembered by others.

3. Originality.
Originality is very important for both designers and brands. Plagiarizing other people's design works not only violates the professional quality of designers, but also damages the interests of the brand, leaving the brand with the suspicion of being fake and irregular, and lacking personality. Therefore, the original packaging design works are also conducive to manufacturing brand identity.
4. Conform to product attributes.
For packaging design, this is actually the most basic point. Food packaging should have the appearance of food packaging. Don't make it like drug packaging. 5. Ductility.

Because you have designed the imported products which are positioned as medium and high-end market as the most dazzling Township style, how can they sell them. Similarly, it is not right for you to design a cheap and rural product like luxury goods. Brand positioning is something that a brand should adhere to for a long time. All designs should conform to the brand positioning, and packaging design is no exception.
8. Protection function and convenient transportation.
Yes, packaging design can be cool, dazzling and creative. But if it doesn't have product protection function and is inconvenient for transportation, it is a failed package, because the original intention of packaging design is for these two points. Old companies who have done a lot of floor to floor packaging have a better feeling. If your product packaging protection function is not in place, or it is not convenient for transportation, it will bring great losses to the company.
The above eight points are very important for packaging design, but it is not to say that a package design must meet the above eight points in order to be excellent. I think you can take points 1, 3, 4, 7 and 8 as the basis for judging whether a package is qualified, while points 2, 5 and 6 can be used as the basis for judging whether a package is excellent. Oh, by the way, I almost forgot the last point: a truly excellent packaging design must be able to withstand the test of the market, promote product sales or enhance the brand's popularity.
