Although many improvements have been made in the development of web printing presses, especially the factors such as registration, printing plate scanning and ink pipeline presetting, the system control and performance have been greatly improved. However, the humidity factor has hardly changed, except for the spray wetting technology. Before discussing this problem, it is necessary to ensure that the humidity value applied during operation can be accurately measured. For example, through the image on the plate, it is easy to calculate: how to adjust the ink fountain in order to obtain the appropriate density and coverage in a certain area of the plate. For example, if a printing plate needs a total of 73% ink coverage, then there must be 27% only need to be wetted and do not need ink at all. At the same time, we also admit that the original data and relationship between ink and water are not linear under any printing conditions. But in any case, a calculation rule can be designed to ensure that the correct humidity can be obtained in all printing environments. This rule can also be extended to the use of an "on-line" device to dynamically measure the wetting film on a plate in real time, just like some online color control systems. In order to use these data effectively, the wetting medium in a certain area must be controlled precisely, just like ink fountain. For example, the ink value on the width of the printing drum is usually 32. One of the systems to achieve this control is spray wetting. At present, spray nozzles are used on many cold presses. There are usually only 8 nozzles on double width presses, and the maximum spray rate is about 60Hz. If the number of existing nozzles is increased, the spray rate will be increased to about 120Hz, and the closed circulation system can be used to continuously measure the wetting film on the printing plate, so that the performance of the existing wetting technology is likely to be greatly improved. This method has many advantages: it can preset the wetting characteristic file, achieve humidity balance faster, reduce paper waste, reduce ink consumption, shorten printing preparation time, truly realize closed cycle color control, and ensure printing quality in the whole printing operation process. The system can also be continuously improved to extend the service life of older presses and maximize the function of new presses
